The Mindset Minute – Tracking

Aug 24, 2026

Alongside your Just One Hour session, I’ll be sending a little note from me to you. Its purpose is to get you thinking, to get you motivated, and to give you a gentle nudge because we all need that from time to time! This week is sharing my belief around the importance of tracking exercise, cycles, mood, whatever you think important.

The Prompt – Seasons of You.

You might already know that I am very interested in cyclical living; living in alignment with the seasons, the lunar cycle, your own female cycle. As women we know that during the menstrual cycle our energy, emotions, libido and sense of self will ebb and flow. I love the idea that as you begin to pay attention to your cycle, you get to know yourself deeper and better. I know that at this stage of life, there may not be the regularity of a cycle, but interesting nonetheless to track whether energy, emotions, needs still ebb and flow?

I wonder why this isn’t something we are encouraged to do from a younger age. Imagine how empowering it is to know ourselves deeply, and so easily by simply tracking our personal cycle.

Each part of the cycle is associated with a lunar phase and a season. The first day of your period, the first day you bleed is day one. This stage is associated with the dark moon phase and Winter. A time for stillness, self-care and rest. Roughly day 6-14, the follicular phase is associated with the new moon and Spring. A time for rebirth, time to take on new projects, creativity and ideas. Ovulation, day 14 to 21, the full moon and the Summer. Here you are more likely to be happy, in full power and in high energy. Then the Luteal phase, days 22-28, this is the waning moon and Autumn. This invites a time to reflect, complete and gather what you need.

Whilst this might not resonate, tracking your mood, energy, how your training went, how your sleep is, how you are doing in general, can be so insightful. Maybe there will be a pattern, maybe there won’t be. Either way you are getting to know yourself deeper and better! It’s also a great excuse for a new journal.

Do share your thoughts.
