Four days a week, I take a 20-minute drive up to the common with the dog. There’s so much space here – open skies, stunning views, the sound of birdsong. It’s my place of calm. Time here is a chance to think… or not think. To walk mindfully. To simply breathe in the clean air of the countryside.
It’s a space where emotions can rise and settle. A place where I can check in with how I’m really feeling. It’s just me and the dog – we meet the occasional friendly face, but mostly it’s just solitude, quiet, open space. Physical, emotional, mental, and metaphorical space.
We all need this.
Space to assess.
Space to let go.
Space to process and unravel whatever we are carrying.
For me, walking on the common brings peace, soothing, and solace. It’s a simple but powerful ritual that nourishes my spirit.
Of course, space looks different for everyone.
For you, it might be ten minutes on a yoga mat, a quiet meditation, writing, knitting or a few moments of intentional movement. What matters most is that your focus is on you. Tending to your deep, inner needs.
That’s why retreats can be so valuable. Whether it’s a day retreat, a weekend, or a week-long immersion—retreats are created to offer a safe, nourishing space. A pause. A reflection. An unveiling.
Our summer retreat is open, supportive space that invites you to explore what you truly need – designed to meet each attendee where they are. Whether you’re drawn to movement, rest, creativity, or stillness, you’ll find what you need. It’s space for you.
Summer is the season of blossoming, of bold expression, of letting yourself shine in your most authentic way. There will be yoga that aligns to the season, moments of quiet, and coaching prompts to help you embrace your authenticity – shamelessly.
Our spring retreat, earlier in the year, was about growth and renewal. Those who joined me in the Spring can build upon the work that was done. For those joining me in Summer for the first time; it’s equally perfect to start building toward the person you want to become.
We will return to nature, to breath, to be at ease.
Space is essential.
And whether it’s found on a windswept common, in a shared retreat space, or simply in a few quiet minutes with yourself—it’s worth seeking.
If you are ready to seek space, and do so with support and guidance, then there’s a space for you on the Summer Retreat.
Small and intimate, rooted in nature’s cycles, this blissful day is a chance to gently put down what you are carrying and tune in to your deep, inner needs. A chance to become shamelessly, authentically you.
We gather on Saturday 21st June at Hunger Hill Retreat Space in Newton Poppleford. Investment: £75 for six hours of YOU time.
